I didn't need to see this. As I type. I'm currently in the ER with my pregnant wife and we just got to the backroom after waiting in the ER for 4.5 hours before being seen. Shyts terrible.

"The author of Louisiana's abortion ban, Sen. Katrina Jackson, is a Democrat who's opposed to abortion. She maintains that the law is clear about miscarriages, saying in an emailed statement that "it does not prohibit medical treatment regarding miscarriages."

Well that just goes to show you the law was rushed and yet again a bad idea. Don't expect Republicans to pay this any attention. Especially here in Louisiana. If it happens to enough white people then maybe....but even that's a big if.

Stuff like this is making 2024 easier and easier. Abortion was one of the hot button issues at midterms. And Republicans are still looking at it from a 1980s lens. It's no longer just a moral issue that folks brush aside when the right runs their mouth about it.

People are now seeing it as a rights issue. That doesn't mean they want to run out and have abortions left and right. A lot of folks support the choice even though they morally wouldn't get one. Republicans refuse to understand this. They treat it like a black and white issue which is how the fanatical evangelicals paint it. And it has already started affecting them at the polls.
