This is why I don’t understand why they announced new hardware if they can never get their software right in the first place. Like seriously at this point they are throwing anything at the wall and seeing what sticks. They have no strategy whatsoever. This whole everything is an Xbox is the most cop out thing I have ever seen in gaming. They ruin everything they touch in gaming they fukked up Rare, they fukked up Halo, They fukked up Gears, and now Call of Duty. The only thing they had going for them Forza is now on PS5. I have no doubt in my mind that the new fable will probably be trash too.

Microsoft has been one of the most cancerous thing to gaming. Especially when it comes to buying studios and owning IP.

There's nobody at the top with a real vision and I doubt the executive suite there loves gaming or even really plays games. They desperately need a Kevin Feige type head at the top of the company that knows this stuff to a level and can put together a plan. Instead they have a bunch of greedy capitalist that have no idea what's going on other than to throw money at the problem and hope it goes away.

The Activision deal seems like a Call of Duty studio now, 345 is a Halo Studio, rare is non exisitent. They only green light the franchises that they see are making money. They don’t take risks in IP and milk an ip until they can’t no more. Actually let me correct myself they will take a risk if it’s a first person shooter or first person game of some sort. I agree it seems like they lost some vision Sony kind of seems like it’s heading in to that direction to with more suits being involved but we will see.

Haven't you noticed the string of cancellations? A lot of these projects run wild for years until they end up getting cancelled. Yeah they do have studios that are dedicated to certain franchises but beyond that it's whatever. Constant delays and cancellations. Games in limbo for years than suddenly cancelled.

Rare isn't non-existent. They had one out on control project that was axed and they're running a live service game in Sea of Thieves.

But when you ask this logical question the Xbox defense force gets riled up lol. Their biggest issue has always been the software. Sony learned from the mistake of the PS3 and has done a 180 on restoring their image. Xbox still hasn't recovered from the Kinect fiasco and has made one bone headed decision after another. But they keep forgetting that high quality software solves a lot of problems. People whine about the PS5 and it's supposed lack of games but extend them grace because they know what time it is when the first party games pop out. The reason Gamepass exists was because they had a lack of first party software so they needed something to appeal to their base. 2026 is supposedly when a lot of their heat is supposed to drop so we'll see.
