Blueprint 3 is one of the worst mixed/mastered albums I've ever heard

I remember the first time I heard it, I thought my headphones were busted. Clipping like hell, all the instruments sound completely squashed and almost muffled, Jay's vocals are downed all the way out, and it clips CONSTANTLY.

Just awful, ear fatiguing shyt.

You think they did any of that on purpose? You got me curious, which songs in particular?

One of my favorite Scarface albums is the untouchable, but I hate how on some tracks his voice sounds so low.

The intro and Thank You are probably the worst offenders. Hate and A Star Is Born are particularly awful sounding too. I'm sure Jay and em had final say on it but it's nonetheless awful to listen to.

Just like dre gets an extra mic, mic and a half for a how good the chronic 2001 mix is

MBDTF gets knocked 1.5-2 mics for mixing.

It was super frustrating because all the songs are fukking dope

Hearing a 5/5 album knocked down by stupid decisions it mad annoying

I even remember mike dean saying he was pissed at how it was chosen to be mixed and he wanted it to have a totally different sound

when that Kanye album mixed by dre comes out I’ll probably drop it another mic cuz I’ll see how dope it coulda sounded

At least somebody made a "Unmasters" version of the Kanye album where they tried to correct the dynamic range of the songs. It sounds less loud and annoying, but not that much better than the original release. Same shyt with Adele's 21 album.

What songs in particular on blueprint 3 do this? I've always felt some of the songs sound a little "off" but im dumb with this kinda shyt

So funny to see this thread because I was just talking about how shytty the mixing and mastering was on this album, lol.

I think they were rushing through a lot of those mixes. You can literally hear the difference in them from track to track. I loved "Thank You" when the album dropped, but the mix was so shytty that it made it weird to listen to.
