“I’d tell them no. I’d tell them no. I know that goes viral tomorrow. I might say — and you know what I know many many thoughtful people who have been involved in football their entire life, coaches players who belie the stereotype of what we’ve got or think we’ve got coming out of the Dolphins locker room, very thoughtful people where football has shaped their lives in a positive way, so I’m not going to paint everyone with a broad brush.

Maybe the better answer is: Be advised of the extreme dangers, know what you’re getting into. But let me put it this way: If it were my son and he was 13 years old and had reasonable athletic ability I would encourage him to play baseball, or to play basketball or to play soccer or something other than football.”

Duh. I like watching football but my kids won't come anywhere near it. I don't like the culture especially those of Southern colleges and it's farm system. You add in the brain, knee and back injuries and it's an easy decision. My kids will be into distance running, golf, tennis or rowing. All sports I enjoy :jawalrus:

Exactly, with all the knowledge we have about how dangerous it is, it would be hard to justify a responsible parent allowing their child to do it :manny:

They have to. The helmets are the problem. It's what's causing all of these injuries. A niqqa won t put his head down into a tackle if he doesn't have a helmet

So your solution is to LOSE the helmets to make the game safer :ehh:

Speak on the south breh. I thought the south was a little loose with sports, i.e. not as hardcore as the other regions.

sounds like u grew up playin football without a helmet :patrice:

I think what he's implying is the helmet actually makes the sport more dangerous. :ehh: Interestingly enough I've heard this from my New Zealand buddies who are heavy into Rugby. You ask them and they think American football is crazy. Meanwhile we think Rugby is  ....They may be right. Without a helmet you actually have to form tackle. No more leading with your head :patrice:
