If you guys dont know the Mets owed this man 5.9 milli in 99' when they cut him, instead of paying him back then, both parties agreed to defer payments until 2011 and the Mets would pay him 1.2 million annually for 25 years (totaling to 30 mill).

The Mets invested that 5.9 million with Bernie Madoff in a 18% interest guaranteed account thinking they would profit out of the sitaution

We all know what happened with Bernie
