He mentions he did so as he felt the industry and ABK were in danger longer term, with subscription and high subsidy models potentially "destroying the value" in gaming.
He mentions they got the deal done in just 3 days and that "the only disagreement" he had with Microsoft on "the future of the operation", was with Game Pass which he thought would be value destructive and less financially viable/lucrative.
