Found an interesting gem. So apparently this project took over 15 years to finish. :picard: This project started being recorded when Boldy was 17 years old and finished up when he was in his mid 30's.

In His Own Words: Boldy James on How Signing With Griselda Gave Him His "Second Wind"

That was my first album ever recorded. That was some of my first works in its entirety. That’s Boldy James from 17 to maybe 32, 35 years old. I gave Sterling Toles the permission to put it out. That’s my brother. That’s my real bro-bro. One of the closest things I’ve got to a brother besides Alchemist, Westside Gunn. I’ve been putting in work with Sterling since I was 17 years old, musically. He just taught me a lot of shyt about life in general. He has a great outlook. I respect his opinion and his perspective of things. He never steered me wrong. He don’t give a fukk about the music. He’s really an artist, he paints and he draws crazy portraits of different things, and he makes money off of teaching.

I haven’t even heard it yet. I haven’t sat down and actually listened to it, finished in its entirety. But I’m pretty sure none is nothing like what I rapped over when I first did the lyrics. The music was built around my vocals.

vinyl still available?

Nah. Sold out on Bandcamp quick, then I went to Fatbeats, they took my order and then cancelled on me saying they’d already sold their copies, then I found some Canada connect and got it from there. Was a real struggle but I could tell it was going to be like that. Discogs prices are not a good look.

Damn. I really wanted this one, but I just copped the Tea in China vinyl and I want that Boldface to go with it, so I might have to stack some paper first. :unimpressed:

I been spending way too much on vinyl this year

You and me both.

I have yet to get the Price Of Tea In China and it's literally a missing piece right now. Trying to do some trades for one but I may have to cop on Discogs.

:wow: wow, brehs. I never even knew this existed.

listened to it just now while making some lo mein.

and..... wow, brehs. :wow:

Its like I been listening to Boldy for a while, right. He damn near always sounds like he rapping with a constant smirk, or he just being introspective.

on here, he sounds so..... personal? Like he full of anger, depression and flat out menace. Regret.

It's like we been listening to Boldy rap from the perspective of a street nikka that done already made it. Remember "I sold dope all my life" off Trappers Alley? "So what's $100,000? :jawalrus:

Here, he's rapping like a nikka who feels he might not make it, and honestly doesnt care if he does. :mjcry:

The result is flat out amazing. All that behind these "nothing sounds like this" avant garde jazz beats..... :wow:

damn, brehs. Boldy and Jay Elect both dropped some AOTY contenders that were 10+ year old albums :wow:
