song is pure gold, we barely even hear music like this anymore. it also might be their modern version of "Crossroads". plus that Akon hook

This was easily the strongest of all of Bone's comeback attempts. Wish Bizzy coulda had his shyt together and been around for it (my favorite Bone member.)
That chorus
Started out saying real shyt then decided he was gonna be posted up on the block with the cracks.![]()
The rest of this album wasn't very good. Great single though.

that's the entire point of the song...trying your best to do good, but sometimes succumbing to evil
I get it. It's borderline c00nish if you think about it. It celebrates victimhood and a defeatist attitude.
I've Tried so hard, I can't seem to get away from misery
Man i've tried so hard but will always be a victim of these streets
It ain't my fault cuz I try to get away but trouble follows me
And still I try so hard hoping one day you will come and rescue me
^how you can rescue someone who aint trying to rescue themselves?
Besides, how did he jump from being a victim of the streets to super hustler in the last two lines:
But until then I'll be posted up right here rain sleet hail snow
But until then I'll be posted up right here with my heat gettin dough
Doesn't sound like someone who's in deep pain trying to get away from misery. It sounds like someone who made a sudden switch to the Biggie super-hustler persona as though that's something to be proud of (it's the 10 crack commandments...ONE!). Even the way Akon delivers those last two lines gives the impression that dude should be proud of his decision to have that brack in his brack.
Besides, I'm hearing this song for the first time in context of the video. And the video shows a 'regular brotha' carrying his books trying to go to school. Then those last two Akon lines come in and it's.... "oh, so we're back to celebrating stuck-in-the-hood mentality. I thought this was supposed to be uplifting."
you looking too deep into the detail of the song bruh, it's a motivational song. just to stay on your feet and not get caught slipping, in life or in street life. which ever people prefer.
