Tyler Perry’s "Boo: A Madea Halloween” topped the box office by taking in $9.4M on Friday ALONE.
“Boo” is Tyler Perry's 7th movie in his “Madea” franchise, which first bowed in 2005 with “Diary of a Mad Black Woman.”
'Boo: A Madea Halloween' scares up a win at the box office while 'Jack Reacher' nabs a close second
Meanwhile, Nate Parker's "Birth of a Nation" has grossed only $13.10M after being out just over a week.
Moreover, "Birth of a Nation" is in danger of losing up to $10M for Fox Searchlight and will most likely not get recognition by the Academy Awards.

And just like I and some of us thought, Madea's new movie has outperformed "Birth of a Nation" in the box office. While some in our community fell for the banana in the tailpipe and actively boycotted BOAN because of the Nate Parker "controversy," it seems like they had no problem supporting another Tyler Perry sambo showcase.
Our people HAVE to do better. Our people's priorities are all fukked up!
UPDATE: It's gonna clear $27M from its first weekend in theaters alone.
