for me lewis/mccall wasn't so much shocking as it was validating, like "i told you that cat was overrated." saw lewis/rahman live and that was infinitely more shocking cause dude was toying with rock and ol boy wiped the smile off his face ala hagler/hearns.

the most shocking thing i saw live was brown/pettway. i ain't never see no sh!t like that.

in mma, the most shocking thing i ever saw was houston alexander absolutely destroying keith jardine like he was nothing. the visual of jardine's mouthpiece being ejected and rolling away like a spare tire is embedded in my memory.

Funny I WAS very shocked when LL was ko'd by McCall, as he was undefeated and lining up to fight Bowe. I always liked Rahman and felt he could do it and was a bit surprised.

off the top of my head

MMA - Cheick Kongo vs Pat Barry...i remember I was at my boy's house chillin and we were watching this. It was go time from the start. it looked like Kongo was about to be the knocked the fukk out by Barry and then bam!!!! caught him with that one punch had Barry sprawled out on the mat out cold. shyt was incredible.

Boxing - Lamon Brewster vs Wladimir Klitschko 1.. If you would have told me that Lamon would stop Wlad in this shyt i would have given you the :dahell:. A guy that had clear losses to Clifford Etienne and Charles Shufford would win this?!!! I remember watching this fight with my father and Wlad is just whooping on him. Dropped him and had him in all sort of trouble. Then Wlad just hit the wall like I'd never seen before outside the Purrity fight. Lamon came roaring back in the 5th with 2 of the cleanest left hooks I've ever seen land. At the end of the 5th Wlad damn near collapses to the canvas and labored just to get to his feet. Ref gave him the :hhh: face and waved it off immediately.

ok, so we are talking about a extremely uncoordinated/sloppy footwork pre manny lennox, right. who i just seen hurt & out boxed by heavy dog frank bruno, before he caught him. that was just my reaction at the time, like 14yo, & i called my best friend like "told you!" haha. because yeah, i thought he was overrated as in this guy won't be undefeated for much longer.

overrated compared to what? compared to the hbo promotion/hype/commercials etc i was seeing at the time.

looks a lot different right now, yeah, but that's how i felt in the moment, and why i wasn't really shocked. doesn't mean i was right (concerning his legacy). but again, that was before he peaked. rahman ko'd prime lennox CLEAN :dead:.

Sorry breh I completely misread your post, I read it like you had that "told you" moment after the Rahman fight that's why I didn't understand, it's all clear now :pachaha:
