CHICAGO (WLS) -- An 11-year-old boy has been charged in a carjacking in Chicago's Mount Greenwood neighborhood last November, Chicago police said Thursday.

Police said the boy took a vehicle at gunpoint from two women in the 11000-block of South Harding Avenue on November 19.

The boy was also seen in a stolen vehicle in the 7300-block of South Francisco Avenue on November 13., police said.

On Thursday, the boy was taken into custody in the 6700-block of South Honore Street by the CPD Vehicular Hijacking Task Force. He has been charged with a felony county of aggravated hijacking with a weapon and a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass to property.

"It actually makes me very sad that kids are around these types of situations and not in school and doing what 11-year-olds usually do," the victim told ABC7 Chicago.

Still traumatized, the woman asked not to be on camera as she reacted to the arrest of an 11-year old boy, who along with at least three other males, are accused of carjacking her and her adult daughter at gunpoint.

"He didn't really say anything," she continued. "He was patting my daughter's pockets to see what else was in her pockets."

A neighbor's doorbell security camera captured the bold daytime crime that happened in the driveway of the woman's house.

The video shows the mother and daughter returning home in a red SUV as a dark-colored car driving down the street suddenly stops. At least two of the alleged carjackers then get of the car. Their driver then pulls into a nearby alley.

"The kid stopped and looked at me and my daughter looked at me and I said, 'Oh God,'" she said. "Within 20 seconds the kid walked up and pulled a gun out on us."

Moments later, the 11-year-old can be seen coming up the driveway.

"He actually skipped like a child all the way up, skipping like a little, like young kids do," the victim said. "He was being a kid."

It was over in a matter of minutes. The young thief and the others made off with the SUV, the women's purses and cellphones. And while the victims did eventually get the vehicle back and some of their belongings, the woman says what cannot be replaced is her sense of safety, her trust of others and a belief in our criminal justice system.

"I question the parenting, the judges, prosecutors," the victim said. "I mean, nothing happens."

Investigators say they are still pursuing other leads in hopes of arresting the other carjackers involved.

This is a rough one. What is a mother with young daughter suppose to do when the drop is on them and the car jacker has a gun. Looks like the house has no garage. They were feeling safe in their driveway and boom, these cats roll up. Glad they're not hurt
