Milwaukee Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings is dropping agent Bill Duffy, and two people familiar with the situation told CBSSports.com on Monday that the soon-to-be restricted free agent will sign with New York-based Jeff Schwartz.
Duffy confirmed he and Jennings have parted ways in a statement to the Sports Business Journal. The two people with knowledge of Jennings' plans said the point guard will sign with Schwartz once the 10-day waiting period for switching agents has elapsed.

Jennings will be one of the top restricted free agents on the market this summer, and his hiring of Schwartz could be ominous for the Bucks. After failing to receive a multi-year extension by the Oct. 31, 2012, deadline the 2009 first-round pick said, "I'm doing my homework on big-market teams."

Schwartz, who also represents Nets point guard Deron Williams, Clippers star Blake Griffin, Celtics star Paul Pierce and other top NBA players at Excel Sports Management, is a noted proponent of the added endorsement income and opportunities that the NBA's largest cities can provide.

In the statement to Sports Business Journal, Duffy said, "I can honestly say we put our heart and soul into helping Brandon on every level and put his life in a positive direction. He has the prerogative to surround himself with whom he chooses and we fully respect that. We wish him nothing but the best."

He's just not that good, I'd trade him for some assets, his type of game @ the point isn't something you want if you're trying to build for the future.

A small market team can't afford to have a player like him, because what you get in return really isn't that great.

Dude is a restricted free agent. He can't get to a big market unless the bucks let him walk or trade him. He's out of his mind if he thinks they're gonna let him walk. Bill Duffy probably wasn't willing to tell the Bucks that he demands to be traded. He's been talking this big market shyt for damn near 2 years now. I think the nikka wanna get to Dallas but Cuban ain't got shyt to offer.
