Iron dome has to let certain things through in order to protect high priority targets. If Iran lops over 5-600 missiles they're screwed

To add to what everyone else said, Iron Dome is mostly designed for simple rocket artillery that doesn’t maneuver mid-flight, like what comes from Al-Qassam/PIJ and most of what comes from Hezbollah. They have the Arrow system to intercept more advanced missile systems but clearly Iranian missiles are faster and too maneuverable for it.

Israel has a lot fewer airbases and interceptors for the airbases than Iran has missiles. Iran’s missiles are also spread throughout the country so they can’t get knocked out in a handful of strikes. If Israel tries that shyt on Iran, Israel won’t have any airbases left.
