WASHINGTON—A federal judge ruled Tuesday that AT&T Inc. T 0.50% can proceed with its planned acquisition of Time Warner Inc., TWX 0.05% rejecting the Justice Department’s allegations that the deal would suppress competition in the pay-TV industry.

U.S. District Judge Richard Leon announced his decision in a packed courtroom, ruling that antitrust enforcers at the Justice Department had not proven their case against the merger.

time warner isn't even my cable provider anymore I think they got bought by spectrum

too many monopolies

:snoop:

I’m confused i thought they were already bought out by Spectrum

that was a different entity. Time Warner Cable/Brighthouse is now (Charter) Spectrum. Time Warner Inc owns the networks, like HBO, Turner, WB. Those two companies split years ago after Cable merged with AOL. What is now Spectrum will eventually be purchased by Verizon or someone of the sort.

They're the same entity aren't they? They literally just keep changing their name when they get any bad press to keep you more confused. The monopoly over our telecommunications is disgusting. Romania has better internet than us.

Yep, some other company will use this as an excuse why they have to expand their own near monopoly.
