A doctor was shot and the gunman is dead in a reported active-shooter incident at William Beaumont Army Medical Center Tuesday afternoon, according to a spokesman for Congressman Beto O’Rourke.

The condition of the doctor is not immediately known.

The incident was reported shortly before 4 p.m. Mountain Time Tuesday.

The entire hospital complex, including the neighboring VA clinic, was placed under lockdown during the incident.

ABC-7 spoke to nurses waiting to go in to their 4 p.m. shift and they said police wee not letting them enter the hospital.
