The games are forever classic but the series was just trash
Even the original anime we all grew up on it’s the theme song that was the classic part
I can’t think of any other anime/manga that makes the protagonist look weak for 20 years

It's true. Even for kid's game related TV Digimon and Yugioh were far better than the Pokemon anime.
There was a very good Pokemon comic though. Can't remember the name.
