I live in Jacksonville now. They dont use that term here at all. In pittsburgh jitneys are more lke a hood Uber. Not necessarily vans. They have been around longer than i was born. I just went home in june to visit the fam and my cousin took a jitney to my parents house.

Yeah its sorta similar to a jitney in the burgh but the dollar cabs/vans here usually only run along certain streets (flatbush, utica, church ave, jamaica ave)...some cab drivers will take you where you want to go for more $$ tho like the jitney in the burgh...i used to always get a jitney from that nasty ass greyhound station in the burgh
