The same above average pg that couldn't dribble past halfcourt against Mario Chalmers? :leon:

Your fascination for scrubs is uncanny Jmurder.
so let me get this straight.....25 games, most of which Lin played like a starting point guard, is not enough to determine what kind of play he is going to be.....but 1 game where the best defensive team in the league threw the book at the same player is?

:rudy:

I hope it wasn't you who was talking about "only 2 games" in the Knicks thread earlier...this would be quite the reversal
We gonna have to disagree I just don't think he's that good or gonna be. There's guys like George Hill, Bayless, and Dragic who are just as good as him but he's valued over them because of his marketability. He's not even a Top 20 point guard yet he's gonna see that kinda money.

To me his run this season was like Flip Murray in 2003 when Allen was out.
The point is...we don't know what he's going to be. And no one is saying that he's gonna be a top 20 point guard or that he's worth the contract but it's not about that at this point. It's about what he is now, and what he can be over the next three seasons vs what Felton is now and what he's gonna be over the next three seasons. If you serious about winning you take that risk with Lin.

You don't sign a HOF point guard to be a 3rd point guard.

Damn

1) Lin went where he could get the biggest offer, and that was with Houston... I think he wanted New York to match, but all of this stuff that leaked out may have pissed off NYK management, and Lin probably isn't the last piece in a championship squad anyway, so why overpay...

2) That said, how is NYK going let go its most popular player in a year when the Brooklyn Nets are gonna be making some noise cross town? Knicks are gonna be over the cap anyway, pay Lin now and jack up ticket sales. Worry about that $15mn later

3) Houston will have no real flexibility with Lin, Asik, etc eating up cap space. They may have flip one of them sooner rather than later. I think NYK may have done this just to jam Houston for their tactics...

That 15 millions becomes over 35 million for the Knicks.

Those chocolate milk drinking contests between Melo and Felton are gonna be epic.
