The Justice Department now says the courts should strike down the entire Affordable Care Act — not just its protections for pre-existing conditions. The department signaled its new, broader position in a legal filing Monday, part of a lawsuit challenging the law's individual insurance mandate.

Why it matters: A ruling striking down the entire ACA would upend major parts of the health care system. Shame that a lot of people will take a hit from this. But I did see the bad side of ACA first hand. The hospital I worked at a while back got killed because of this. They lost so much money that they basically had to sell to a larger hospital system and a lot of people lost their jobs. It was fukked up.
