But the shills here told me the president couldn't do anything...
Democrats screwed themselves by saying the best they could do was make incremental changes. Because once someone came along who didn't care and did whatever they promised. Now Democrats look like fools or liars.

Elizabeth Warren says Democrats have been downplaying the system being rigged for awhile now.

What to Know About Project Firewall, the Trump Administration’s H-1B Visa Probe

Companies could face probes into their compliance with the H-1B visa program as part of the Trump Administration’s effort to clamp down on the program and force companies to hire more Americans.

The Department of Labor announced on Friday that it was launching Project Firewall, an “enforcement initiative” that will investigate employers for potential abuse of the H-1B visa process. The initiative may be the first time the federal government has sought to broadly enforce H-1B legal standards intended to protect both the H-1B employee and American workers, such as paying wages on par with other workers of similar qualifications or with the local prevailing wage and offering benefits on the same basis as for U.S. workers.

Let's get to the nitty gritty of this mess , is the president allowed to make up his own rules or enforcement on anything ? . Has Congress passed any laws on this 100k fee ? Cheeto/ Miller cannot just make up those figures. The tariffs are another bs attempt to RIP off businesses & raise prices on everything ,it needs to end asap
The executive branch is in charge of immigration. There already were fees associated with immigration and work permits so adjusting the amount I don’t think would require a new law.

Democrats can't even make sure Americans get a job in their own country over a foreigner. What the hell is a vote for them gonna secure but maybe a welfare check?

The issue is more about employer costs and if hospitals can afford to sponsor residents with this new fee. It’s not just about wages but the total financial burden on hospitals. So even if immigration does not directly depress wages, this 100k will seriously raise hiring costs, which affects if these hospitals can afford to keep sponsoring these doctors.

This will force hospitals to stop hiring international medical graduates, making doctor shortage worse, especially in underserved areas.

There’s rural areas where there are few doctors or clinics nearby and people often have to travel long distances for care because American doctors don’t wanna live there.

Also places with high poverty, elderly populations, or other vulnerable groups also are where there’s obstacles to get care and again American doctors don’t wanna work there.

does immigration affect wages?
