It doesn't matter what their political bent might be...as someone else pointed out regarding Native American people, there's a looooong history of the US gov't ignoring it's own laws, treaties and pretenses towards any general ethical stance when it's expedient. Conservatives are already largely in panic mode; do you really think Democrats won't join them the further the numbers shift? They(centrist/establishment Dems) pay lip service to their rank and file for now. The more they realize that they've put a saddle on an elephant...they're more they're going to learn that it's a goddamned elephant.


There's any amount of evidence what happens when desperation sets in. You don't use that as a tool of control for this long without it in turn affecting you at some point.

most countries it doesn't matter if you are born there if your parent's are citizns you are giannis till you're famous. It's mainly a north and south american thing

That's birth right citizenship if your parents are citizens or legal residents

The us is about the only country that grants citizenship to people born from illegal immigrants

And to respond to other posts. Trump is not trying to change the constitution or the 14th amendment, he is trying to make an executive order to reinterpret it and make it NOT apply to children of illegal immigrants

It would not effect Ados or children of legal residents

He will most likely do it, but it will be a narrowly tailored executive order that will only apply to illegal immigrants

And it will most likely pass the Supreme Court because it's not a new issue, its an obscure debate but it (giving citizenship to children of illegal immigrants) is not a clear cut issue, its a grey area in the constitution that can be interpreted either way
