The US govt would impose sanctions on South Africa if they appropriated lands from whites like what happened to Zimbabwe

CNN.com - Zimbabwe: U.S. sanctions 'racist' - Mar. 9, 2003

So tell me, what will you do to oppose sanctions on South Africa if they appropriated lands from Boers? Will I see you marching on Washington?
:mjpls:

Wont Russia and China will come to the rescue? You guys claim BRICS can now rival NATO.
I have been to South Africa and to be fair I spent most of my days in the hotel but anyone of any significant wealth there (unless they are politically connected or a scamming preacher) is White or Indian. Yet they have no smoke for them.
SA better thread lightly because almost all their industry is now priced in the US dollar, if the US puts sanctions on them the country may collapse.

They are dealing with Africa on strictly business terms, for now.
And the youth you mention will be up in arms when that bill comes due and blame their elders for selling them out to colonial imperialist. When “for now” becomes “right now.” China is just their new America. What is classified as value because a lot of what I seen the youth indulge in and be completely enamored with all came from western and European countries.

Gupta’s literally flew billions of dollars out the country and maybe a couple of days of outrage

Never said it was goodwill. I know the Chinese are cutthroat. But they aren't hostile bullies like the US. They don't mix politics and business. No - "do this or get slapped with a sanction". They are dealing with Africa on strictly business terms, for now. It's why they've gained trust amongst African govts. And despite what you said about their shoddy development projects, Africans by and large now see them as the foreign power adding the most value to their lives.

China doesn't have the power to do sanctions effectively yet. When it becomes clear they are the #1 economy and their currency is used by everybody, then it will be. But the West is going to fight that tooth and nail. There will be wars before they let China have that control. So that's why this whole situation is just the start of something bigger.

It sounds like you want to impoverish a black country and give Afrikaners greater opportunity to seize wealth. Why?

The West has a huge advantage in soft power. China cannot compete there, now or ever due to the language barrier. But that survey shows the youth are cognizant of the tangible value of the China-Africa partnership. Ex: they are aware that the internet they use to indulge in our culture is due to the 100,000 kms of fiber optic cable and telecommunications infrastructure China has built around the continent the last two decades. Try telling these people it's a long-con game by China or that they are being spied on using those networks, they will laugh at you just like all of these US envoys keep getting laughed at on their "Russia/China boogeyman" shuttle tours the last 2 years. America's messaging is falling on deaf ears, their archaic Africa strategy needs a reset.

Who knows what the future holds. I don't think it's right to assume they will do the same us when they have the means. Same was said about their military, yet they have not embarked in wars all over the globe. Maybe we just have a uniquely wicked thirst for global hegemony. :yeshrug:

When you're trying to keep power that's usually what happens. If China gets in that position and starts losing power then we will see the real China.

You made the claim that SA has historical alliances. That shouldn't be a problem then? Unless BRICS is all bricks 🧱? 🤣
My point is there will be a reaction from the US if it's true they supplied weapons.

Bro, nothing about that site you linked doesn’t strike you as odd? Mad puff pieces on how China is doing all it can to help the continent, how it’s trying to convince the US to invest and care about Africa like the Chinese?

China has been using its African-focused media propaganda to enhance the perception of its country and political system among African audiences for some time now. The CPC manages media outlets that provide inexpensive or free international content to African media, allowing China to amplify its messaging while concealing its true intentions under the guise of grassroots legitimacy. They’ve also been having knowledge exchanges with SABC and other African state media outlets.

Aren't there state owned arms companies in south Africa? Which cac companies supplied the arms to Russia
They’re an arm of but allowed to run and operate as entities independent of the govt. That’s why I asked the OP for a link or more context. The ones I dealt with had like their own compounds and the military weren’t allowed on them.

Yes be interesting to know the companies involved. If they're saying the government of South Africa there are only so many state owned arms companies.
