there are so many private communities in this country, I fell down a Wikipedia rabbithole one day and had no idea it was such a widespread thing, some of em are bummy as hell but alot of em are pretty nice

This is not something new, it is not something that was just in the past, this has been on going. You can go to places all over the US that is like that and for the most part, I would never want to live in them anyway. They are cesspools often worse than anything they try to complain about any other areas. I mean some of them are "Hills Have Eyes" level of crap.

I really don't care about them wanting to live out some traditional fantasy in the name of being "anti woke", "anti CRT", "anti BLM" etc et al. But we all know the end goal for these people will be influence on local and national politics and spreading their backwards ideology.
Many of the right wing politicians these days are pandering and performative but once you get these types in power (and many of them are already in power but not enough to really run shyt) you're in trouble.
