Breh, am I misunderstanding the Autobiography of Malcolm X?

I was talking with my homegirl the other day and she was telling me about how it's cool to read your rip of these or some other greek nikka. and i was like but have you ever read the Autobiography.

She said , I'm not sure if I want to read a book by someone that hated white people his whole life. she is white. now this cause me to clear all that shyt up to the best of my ability and by the end of it i was like because you got motherfukkers out here white and black that probably have no idea what this dude even did.

wasn't part of the reason why dude was assassinated because he took his pilgrimmage, saw white muslims, and then wanted to change his style up? it's been about 2 years since i read it (for the 2nd time) but i'm pretty sure that's what happened. dude wasn't saying we should be mixing it up but the "you're a goddamn devil" shyt changed more into " just do you". we all belong to god, so to speak.

and while his activisism is what he was known for, there is a recurring theme of dude being stubborn but smart enough to not let his missteps ruin his life (until that last time when he was in too deep).

He didn't hate white people his last few years or after his hajj...that's the narrative white americans like to tell. Arguably it's what partially got him killed because his message changed ever so slightly.

I found my self laughing through the entire autobiography, dude said what ever popped up in his head sometimes. It was a good read.

2. Malcolm didn't hate white people, it was their ways he despised. Ask your cave girl if she reads literature or watch movies/TV shows from authors or writers who hated Black people. I'm curious about her reaction

Did you read the book thoroughly? He taught black empowerment and non-passivity, but outright hatred was never his rhetoric.

It's one of the best books ever and there were some pretty powerful moments. I just don't understand how people can seem so well read with authors like plato and air wrist throttle but miss out on a gem like this.

i'm gonna have to look into that alex haley thing. i was not aware of that.

and i read stuff by people that are or have been accused of being racist my damn self (lovecraft is one of my favorites). her reaction would probably be " probably...but there are so many racists out there..."
