Western Europeans travelled the world and every time they encountered someon or something gentle or curious they killed it. Deadass sailed around the world making life worse for everyone.

I just learned that the Falkland Islands had a native wolf species that was so gentle and friendly that they'd literally swim out to greet boats coming ashore. They were quickly driven to extinction by settlers and now I'm mad at a 150 year old environmental crime.

Yet who was it who overhunted the whoolly mammoths, bison and so many other animals? Oh right Natives.
We Europeans and our brothers in Asia have done more to preserve animals than any other races.

U.S. government officials actively destroyed bison to defeat their Native American enemies who resisted the takeover of their lands by white settlers. American military commanders ordered troops to kill buffalo to deny Native Americans an important source of food. Hundreds of thousands of Bison were killed.
