BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
Police have arrested a shooting suspect after a Birmingham man was killed Wednesday evening during what police call a domestic indicent.

Officers responded shortly after 9 p.m. to Lakeshore Ridge apartment complex in the 1100 block of Lakeshore Ridge. That's in the Sand Ridge neighborhood.


That's where they found Demetrice Darnell Beverly, 39, inside a bedroom. He had been shot and was unresponsive, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Beverly was a coach at A.H. Parker High School.

Investigators say that he and a woman were in the apartment when De'Corlion Keshaun Robinson, 23, came in, shot Beverly, and left.

The woman called 911 for help and stayed until officers arrived.

They arrested Robinson in the parking lot.

Robinson is in the Jefferson County Jail without bail facing charges of murder and unlawful possession of a machine gun conversion device.
