I feel like this would be a moderately big deal if it were true.

Especially since nowadays most hospitals tag newborns no later than 10 minutes after birth to minimize such fukkery.

With the way the internet works today there’s no WAY an incident like this would be limited to just a twitter thread.

People that think for instance that teenage mothers aren't fit to raise a child. Tell the mother that the baby was stillborn and sell it out the backdoor to a couple that could never get pregnant. It happened.

Damn. I've only heard stories like that from movies. Must be something they used to do back in the day when single motherhood had a lot more shame and stigma. I know sometimes the parents would force the daughter to pretend that her child was really her sister for the sake of appearances.
