Damn, I thought he beat it.

Same thing happened to my uncle. Pancreatic cancer in remission, within a year he was back in chemo.

The contestant didn’t know the answer, so he took the moment to write the note saying we love you Alex. Alex has cancer and probably won’t be around much longer. So the message the contestant wrote touched his soul and he got a little choked up cause of all the support he has. Alex typically can hold it together and is very professional, but that note hit home for him
