Neighbors of a murdered ex-assistant to the British royal family say they would hear her in 'screaming' fights with her husband – who is now arrested for her killing.
Jenean Chapman, a former aide to Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, was found allegedly strangled to death in her luxury apartment in Dallas, Texas on Monday.
Another resident of the 34th-floor downtown apartment said they came across police in the hallway on Monday afternoon and smelled a foul odor.
The neighbors told DailyMail.com that Chapman, 46, and her husband of two months, James Patrick, 48, would constantly get into explosive fights with yelling that could be heard down the hallway.

'They argued loudly, a lot,' said Jonathan Davis, 32. 'I could only hear her screaming. She was yelling loudly and frequently. I remember thinking, man if I were him I'd leave her. But apparently he chose a different route.
'I walked in on Monday and I saw the police standing outside. I was like, are they fighting again? No one answered me. I only found out a couple days later she had been murdered.'
A female neighbor, who asked not to be named, said she noticed a bad smell coming from Chapman and Patrick's apartment after police arrived.
'I got off the elevator to go to my apartment and I was hit with a gruesome smell,' she said. 'The property manager and police were all in the hallway.
'It was just very uncomfortable. I was kind of shaken to my core. I mean, I couldn't stay in my apartment for like a week, I stayed with my friends.'
The woman added that she didn't know the tempestuous couple well, but would often hear them fighting loudly.
'If I was waiting at the elevator I would hear them fighting. Both of them shouting. But I never paid attention that much; people fight.'
Commenting on the possibility that her neighbor was a murderer, she said: 'I'm shocked that someone like that could live next to me. It's horrific.'
Davis said after reading Chapman's family's story of their 'toxic' on-and-off relationship, he was less shocked.
'Obviously it's a surprise when anything like that happens. But given what I understand was happening between the two of them, it's less of a surprise,' he said.
Patrick was arrested on Wednesday, 200 miles away in Austin. Chapman's family said police were alerted when he checked himself into a hospital there.
The Travis County Sheriff's Office online inmate locator says he is still in custody there.
Despite being married to Chapman since July, he describes himself on his Facebook page with the sentence: 'Disco….. sleeze….single af' and had his relationship status as 'single'.
Chapman worked as the Duchess of York's personal assistant in the early 2000s.
Ferguson, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew, posted a statement about her former staffer on her Instagram page on Friday saying she 'heard from her just a couple of months ago' and pledged to help pay for funeral costs.
On Saturday DailyMail.com published audio from the Dallas Police Department's dispatch radio revealing the moment officers came across Chapman's body.
Shortly after 1.30pm on Monday the dispatcher can be heard saying: 'It's a black female. Said they haven't heard from her since Wednesday. Her and her husband had a domestic [inaudible].'
Just over 15 minutes later, the female officer radioed in with the bad news. 'It's going to be a 27 for sure,' she said, using the police code for an attempted crime. 'We're going to need [inaudible] crime scene.'
An officer adds that they are 'Going to need a supervisor to start over here at 1401 Elm' – and even mentions the word 'homicide'.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause of death, though sources told local ABC affiliate WFAA Channel 8 'it appeared Chapman was strangled'.
Chapman was living with Patrick in a 1,157sq ft one-bedroom apartment at the upscale hotel and residence tower The National.
A 2021 rental listing for a one-bedroom apartment on the 43rd floor had a price of $3,150 per month.
Chapman, who worked in digital marketing, moved there five months ago from San Francisco, where Patrick also previously lived.

Chapman's family said their relationship was 'rocky' and 'toxic', and had been on-and-off for six years. They were surprised to learn this summer that the couple had eloped without their knowledge.
