Because on other sites (and honestly offline too), i disagree with what many brehs/brehettes think the problems are. When the topic of the black community and it's issues comes up, many bring up or argue about stuff that aren't even the main problems:francis:in my opinion anyway.

I'm not some expert and won't claim to be, but i think these are things that need to be improved on:

1- Our need to "look rich" when in reality wouldn't have enough money to feed ourselves for a month, if we got laid off today. Not all of us, but a large amount. The mentality is,"I may not own things that asians and whites do, but hey at least i can stunt on other black people with my trinkets :smugfavre:". We can only stunt on each other. Hard to stunt on Ming or Abdul with some sneakers and a Charger when he actually has businesses and property and investments. Our stunting obsession is a facade, it's not fooling anyone, because it's no secret that black americans currently have the lowest household income of all groups in america. The lowest entrepreneurship rates. And our home ownership rates are lower than they've ever been. There are some exceptions, but i'm speaking in general. We rather flex than invest, but no matter how much we flex our trinkets, everyone knows we are last in every category right now.

2- IMO, we also need to brush up on our financial literacy. I've had to explain things several times, things that we should know. Do you know how many of us don't even know the difference between wealth and income?! :snoop:

And how many of us make excuses about business and investing? It's like we don't want to delay gratification. We want those trinkets, instead of investing some money to get more back. We buy our trinkets to "look" rich, when everyone knows we have the lowest ownership out of every group in america. It's all a front. And it doesn't even make sense, because the wealthy people we're trying to emulate fashion-wise don't even wear that shyt.

We also have misconceptions about other races. We assume they just have 1 job like us, but they usually have multiple streams of income. Including passive income. But we see Greg or Ming in some "wack shoes" or with a regular phone and laugh at him, not knowing the jokes on us. Their money doesn't go towards that. The stuff we care about (swag) is not important in the real world. We're so concerned with shoes and frivolous shyt, but not with OWNING anything. Many of us are lost.

3- If you are poor, try to hold off on having kids until you are in a good position to have them. I know i'll make some ppl mad with this, but way too many black kids are being born into poverty,. Yall can say "other races do it too" all you want but i worked in banks for years, and you would be astounded at the amount of little kids accounts i saw that had thousands in there, i'm talking 7 year olds, they were mostly whites, asians and some latinos. Not saying you have to do that much but damn, don't have kids if you can't afford to yet. You can wait. Too many having kids at 21, with nothing to pass down to them. You keep assuming other races are doing this too but trust me, they are setting their kids up to BE IN CHARGE OF YOURS. Keep thinking it's a game, then your kids will be taking orders from theirs. They're aiming to be owners and managers.

There's more i want to say but idk....i've said a lot already....i know i'm rambling. Serious thoughts only please. I might not have been nuanced enough, but these are things that come to mind. Our mentality towards entrepreneurship and investing, obsession with "swag"/fashion, and not passing stuff down to our kids. Of course i know WS is the problem, but i do feel there are things we can do to help ourselves, because it's not going away.

Nice points..I believe the first step we have to make as a group is to change our diet. If we change our diet to a more healthier one, I believe we will be able to focus more, have stronger unity, and will be more conscious of what’s going on in the world. How can you save other ppl if u don’t kno how to save your self? I think we as a collective have to educate our self more on how to fuel our bodies

^^^ Peep the title to this song

This is the mentality that must be changed somehow.

Sadly hip-hop culture has a vice grip on lots of black peoples minds. It literally is the guide for lots of people (specifically young black males) on how to live their lives.

Hip-hop culture + social media will continue to have an entire generation of black people thinking that "swag" and "stunting on nikkaz" is priority #1

When I win I bring we with me
:jbhmm:
Most of what I read in the OP are symptoms not root causes...

3. Most importantly my political position is that we need to finish correcting our cumulative historical projection.
End transatlantic slave trade (Done)

End the formal institution of chattel slavery(Done)

-I look at the modern prison complex as it's own demon*

End overarching wide scale political division of African people(Done)

-current tribalism levels doesn't trump the current pan-african / African Union / regional, continental, & diasporic integration consciousness and thrust

End governmental colonialism(Done)

End academic(mental/spiritual) colonialism(initiated)
-Reconstruction of an African worldview(definitions of reality, values, principles, etc)

End economic colonialism(initiated)

Have capacity to fund all political actions
Have the capacity to extract, process, and manufacture all the goods Africa needs with the resources in the ground
Have the capacity to move all goods around the continent and trade internally.
Be independent of all non-African owned NGOs, production, and/or extraction corporations only leaving foreign(sellers, traders, and tourist).
Have a resource depot for surpluses in the Caribbean, Seychelles/Mauritius, and Kerkennah Islands.(Sale surpluses after domestic needs met)
Diaspora wholesale purchase surplus and use global sale of goods from depots as base financial revenue generator to maintain economic independence/sovereignty of global African peoples.

End military deficiency(initiated)

- gain policing, military powers, and the ability to enforce law. Grow capacity to deal with the total array of threats land, sea, air, cyber, biological, etc.

:jbhmm:In street terms
Me building in a cac city is hustling backwards :to:

....in terms of governance & economics. My employment opportunities needs to go to "my people", my tax funds need to go to "my people" & my political donations needs to go to making sure "my peoples" political candidates(and their policy maneuvers) are not beholden to "alien" financiers.
