The trade to Cleveland has been great for him and them, some numbers if you will brehs :jawalrus:

  • http://espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/2444/jr-smith -----> Notice the similarities between '12-13' & '14-15' with the cavs. He's making a whole nother three per game, with a higher FG % and the third highest 3pt % of his career.
  • He's also started 41/42 possible games, so hes been responsible for a lot more. His defense and ball skills are pretty on point, highest blocks per game and his assists are sittin pretty.
My point is, I MISS HIM :mjcry::mjcry:. I also wonder if the Cavs went in to the trade thinking that shumpert > JR, or would outperform him in the long run.

look at this chemistry, why couldnt us knicka-bockas have this ?!:snoop::snoop::snoop:

Lemme know your thoughts of JR. whether or not you agree or if you have any dope anecdotes :feedme:

See stuff like this just proves how fans and media don't know shyt and just talk out their asses. This team is going to the finals.

Yet for years folks have sworn up and down you could never be a true contender or win with JR. Smith as a big contributor on a team.

He still takes too many shots that'll end up like three dibbles then shoot a step back three but when he spots up like in that Bulls game Sunday he can be deadly.

I didn't think he was a change of scenery type player but it turns out he is. He was too young and dumb in Denver, the lights got too bright in NY and they were losing, the Cavs gave him life. Everyone figured Shump would be starting by now.

JR had a great year in NY when he won the sixth man of the year, and i think that largely because of the veteran presence they had to keep him focused on bball.
now hes with a guy like lebron, on a loaded team, he doesnt want to be the one who causes them to fall short of their potential because he cant stay locked in. also im sure just living in cleveland isnt hurting that either with fewer distractions. hes always had the talent, but doesnt have passion or desire to be great so it seems it just needs help to stay on the right path.

also theres a lot less pressure in cleveland. like it or not he was the second best player on the knicks. you pretty much knew what you going to get from melo, so the knicks pretty much went as JR went. when he played like a star, they won 50+ games, when he played like shyt, they were lottery bound. hes not one of the guys that needs to carry the load anymore, he can just fill the lanes, space floor, and defend. he doesnt need to force anything because hes usually open when he gets the ball.

i was excited when the cavs got him because i knew he would play well with bron, hell most players do. im definitely rooting for the cavs to make it to the finals. what team could possibly provide more entertainment in the finals that the cavs ? hawks are fun to watch sometimes, but everyone else in the east is pretty boring.

It also needs to be said that he doesn't get to handle the ball nearly as much with the Cavs as he did in Denver or NY, he's basically a catch and shoot guy now, it takes his questionable decision making out of the equation.

He's not doing anything he wasn't doing during his 6th Man of the Year season in NY. What the change of scenery does is put him somewhere where people aren't eager to look for something negative to say. Plus if they start losing, you've got three other players, plus the head coach that'll be talked about way before you're brought up. You think anyone would give a fukk if JR untied someone's shoes right now, let alone run it as a legit story?:heh:
