I do agree the average person trying to attack you with a knife is going to be very very poorly trained and you have a good opportunity to friend yourself. If you're not in complete shock from the attack.

It's likely a transient or a junkie or homeless and you should be able to "101" take care of things.

Having said that if it's one of those knife-wielding crazy attackers that go psychotic and going berserk trying to kill everybody (like you see on those UK videos) and you have nothing to defend yourself with you need to run and not even attempt to "Raid Redemption" your way outta that bytch

Imagine you grapple someone down via BJJ or wrestling and they pull a concealed knife.

Now you’re in close quarters combat on the ground against someone with a blade.

It’s why a fight outside of the gym is not worth it. Some people want an excuse or are confident because they have an equalizer.

In terms of knife attackers and knife fights, it’s one of the things Hollywood is the most wrong about. A lot of people won’t draw their knives until they’re desperate and see the opportunity. They don’t draw it during the “sizing up” stage before punches are thrown.
