:dead: just got back from jiffy lube and hes saying it sounds like an air leak, need a new pump or valve or some shyt

gonna take it somewhere else tomoro
Yeah, tbh you might need some other shyt but "new pump or valve" / "sounds like an air leak" / "replace maniforld intake and gaskets" are the 3 most lazy price gouge items at the jiffylube and Valvolines of the world

That happened to me. All you need to do is basically change your oil. Open the bleed screw and let it all dump out, unscrew and dump out or replace the oil filter close the bleed screw and refill with oil.

You'll be fine.

First time it happened to me. I put too much oil in it because I thought I had none in it due to a misread and put 5 quarts in.

The second time it happened I had taken it to one of those places where they do it. I let them change it while I went to the mall. Came back paid was driving it out and it was sputtering, stuttering and smoking. I took it back like "what the fukk!" They ran a diagnosis test and was like "catastrophic engine failure :manny: but we will have to break down the engine to see what fully happened, we didn't do it, it was just something waiting to happen

I drove it to a specialist the next day and he called me like 20 mins after I left and was like " we started with a basic oil fill and thing was wavy over filled. It's good now. It'll have to burn some excess off. $40"

Peep the bold @the cac mamba

You gotta find a reliable mechanic or at least a high rated chain in your area. Spots like Jiffy Lube been scamming cats for years, it's proven based on those news investigative shows. I just moved to a new state and I'm still apprehensive about taking my whip somewhere

Do you hear hissing?
That indicates a leak.

Get some starting fluid and spray around intake base while engine ia running. If idle increases then you have a leak.

yeah thats what the dude at jiffy lube did, it didnt really do shyt

one of the mechanics pulled the codes p0174 and p0171 and i got this

An "under reporting" Mass Air Flow Sensor can be a common cause of acode P0171 and P0174. Essentially, this means that the Air Flow Sensor is telling the computer that much less air is entering the engine than actually is.

the 'service engine soon' light is also on

Sounds like you got some oil on your MAF sensor.

There is MAF cleaner that you can get from any parts store.

Spray the heated element and let it dry according to instructions.

Erratic idle and stumbling acceleration is a sign on a dirty MAF.
