I just graduated in July, got money saved up, and I'm seeing round trip I can get flights out there for approximately $600-700.

My biggest fears all stem from the fact that I don't know any Japanese, and I'd also be flying out by myself.:francis:

Any of y'all got any advice or tips for a brehito in my predicament? If I go, how easy would it be for me to maneuver around? Could I survive knowing virtually nothing about the country? Is there certain places I should check out?

Imma begin searching through other threads as well.

I was there for three years, BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE!!!!

Tokyo is on another level breh. I can give you the scoop on whatever you want

:whew:
What did you spend 3 years doing out there breh?

What's some advice and insight you can give me into Japan? Places you'd recommend I check out? Cultural practices I should be aware about? What's the best way to get around? Also, like I mentioned in my first post, I don't know any Japanese -- in your honest opinion, how big of a deal is this?

Drop any stories if you got any breh.:salute:

I used to live there.

there's a lot of American tourists, so more people speak english in Tokyo than you may think.

A lot of signs have English under the Japanese characters (similar to how we put Spanish under English signs)

Great experience, very interesting food, vending machines everywhere.

Amazing Ice-Cream...and they have variations of candy bars you'll miss when you make it back to the states

Hard question lol. I've had a urge to kind of make a 'jump' in my life. I thought about Europe and Mexico, but Japan is completely foreign to me. All I really know is how captivating Japan seems to be whenever it's depicted on television. I know Japan has a very interesting fashion scene as well that I want to check out along with just trying to immerse myself in the Japanese culture for as long as I'm there.

I got family in Mexico, and I've been there three times in the past. Europe ain't really something I want to do alone. Japan is that trip I want to embark on.

Interestingly enough, I have a half sister who just moved out to Japan. She's military, but I ain't close to her at all, not even sure if I'd tell her I'm out there.

What about you breh? I was looking at early December, we might have to do a coli meet up in Japan if we're both out there.:pachaha:
