A lot of people in there mid to late 20s are seeking homes.

2 of my friends just bought a house.

Is anyone here looking to buy a house?

Is it still a good investment?

I'm thinking about buying one at 29/30

Idk.

But if you can save up enough money to start flipping houses you'll be golden for life. Probably have like 50k + profits on every house you flip. Flip a house a year + work a job and you'll be eating.

Yea im looking to purchase a home through a program in my area that offer newly built 2 family homes for people within a certain income range. Never really considered buying a home until i get older but its too good an opportunity to pass up

No

But I live in London. So you need about $6-800,000 for an actual house.

Ain't got that cash yet

I'm in that age range and would love to buy a home. Maybe not a house but atleast a townhouse or condo. Something affordable where I can put some money down and not be paying most my monthly income in mortgage. I think it's better than to rent. Especially here where the rent is so expensive in the nicer areas. it's atleast 1k for one bedrooms, I've seen. Not sure what the housing market looking like but I think it went back up again after the housing crash. We had a huge housing boom in the 90s and then prices just started going up. I see current prices at 300k and up but that's just in my general area. I need to earn more money tho before I contemplate a move, even with the savings I have now.

I'm in ATL and early 20s, so I'm trying to save up for a condo instead of a house
Plan to get one until I get a family or something and rent it out afterwards

And i've never flipped a house so i'm gonna refrain from getting in a big debate with you. But assuming someone has the funds to procure a house, labor, and materials? He should have no problem turning a profit. People always need somewhere to live. And even if your place doesn't sell immediately you can rent it out.

There is tons of relatively simple ways to make guap. People don't do them cuz people are lazy, undisciplined, and unorganized. Simply attempting to flip a house would automatically put you several steps ahead of the majority of the population. Cuz them nikkas won't even make the attempt. Guess cuz they're thinking like you.

I bought a loft a while back, one of the older properties I purchased and am renting out is footing most of the bill.

They say don't buy a house more than 3x your current salary, but I'd say be conservative and do 2x your current salary.

Buy a small house first and see if you even like living in one, I wish someone would have told me that. :heh:

Owning your home vs. renting is ALWAYS a good investment. The only people talking S like the housing market is a terrible place are the people out there trying to flip a house ( and not know what they are doing) or the people expecting to live in it for 2 years and sell it for triple. That is not real life...

Although over the course of time you can't go wrong. Plus renting is about four times more expensive then owning in today's economy.

Do your research, interview with realtors until you feel comfortable with one and get a pre approval from a bank so you know what you can afford. Happy house hunting...

You can't even find a home where I live (Toronto) for under like 500k

Even condos are like 250k to 400k
