Brehs is it true nowadays most console gamers use Discord instead of in-game or party chat?

Out of the hundreds of people I’ve played with it ( I play battle royales so atleast need 2-3 people every game) I’ve only had a handful ask to play on discord. And I play with atleast 6 new people a day.)Might have been asked about discord 10 times. People don’t wanna use their phone to speak to randoms when the console has a built in speaking system. If so many people were using discord I doubt PlayStation would raise their Max people in a party from 8 to 16 like they are doing next update

O i agree i wouldn't use it if you just talking to randoms. But if u have squads you play with it's just easier to link up in discord. You never leave the chat cause the app is on your phone.

What hassle? The reason discord is so popular is that there IS no hassle. It works out the box. AND it works on mobile. With ANY pair of headphones.

Its bluetooth support on Android is trash, but yeah it usually just works.

I doubt "most console" gamers are using Discord. PC for sure, not for consoles tho.

It's essentially a chat/forum tool used by people with audiences that warrant it. You see it used a ton with streamers. Party Chat is fine for most, but I think this will pick up a lot more on console with the emergence of cross-play.

One thing with PlayStation is the social integration is flawed and broken as fukk. Why can't they just copy Xbox which is the only thing they've done right.

I mostly use Discord for sports streams since Reddit's been taking them down. For chat it works good too if you have friends on other consoles.

For console online sports leagues, Discord is goat status for everything except chatting in game. Even with shooters.
