Let's talk about this brehs, cause a lot of y'all are really under the impression that independent>>>>>anything no matter what

Is it cause you hear all these established rappers, with dependable fanbases saying Independent is the best situation for them?

Is it cause you believe that major labels really do prevent artists from making the music they truly want to make?

Is it cause feel that being on a major label is gonna put you in a situation where you're not really making shyt

Is it cause you truly believe, being your own boss is better than anything else...in every situation?

let's chop it up brehs... and talk about the realities of being an independent rapper vs. being on a major.

Its cuz alot of these nikkas on here wanna be rappers n think they can get it popping by themselves.

9 out of the 10 "indie" rappers who have been presented on these blogs n internet have been low key signed aka "industry plants" :youngsabo:, equipped with industry backing and internet marketing teams. But the typical coli nikka think he gon get a fanbase n be a millionaire by making music out his momma house :pachaha:

Edit: Cats like Miller ,Joey Bad, n Tyler have industry associated management so its pretty much the same damn thing :manny:

I dunno tbh but tyler and mac willy have made loads of money

The majority of Tylers money, comes from the OF apparel (hipster kids ate them shirts, hoodies and socks up),and The Cartoon Network deal.

Tyler is backed by Sony now... he's apart of that " Independent, but not really" group of Indy artists... like Macklemore.

Astroturfing aint new, even in the music industry....Eminem was fronting how he wasn't signed to anybody when he already had a deal with Dre.

cats are damn conspiracy theorists when it comes to rappers who are new, and got hot without them noticing.

it's to the point where if you didn't listen to any of Rapper X's music, and all of a sudden you start to see his shyt everywere, it HAS to be some type of industry secret plan to make such and such rapper hot.

Its not even really a industry plant thing. Its the projected DIY image of the game that gets these nikkas open. They dont understand tha cost of really being a rapper.

They think that they can jus get they homie to make beats on fruity loops, spit ova a 200 dollar mic, shoot a couple of videos, then BOOM they all over the net.

When there are alot of other factors at play that they do not not only see but understand. Thats why they think being indie is the wave. Cuz they dont know what it really means to be "indie'

:russ:

That Sony deal, gave him much more legitimacy in the industry...

Sony didn't do much for him, but i can bet that no matter where you lived in the US, you could've walked into a best buy and bought Wolf.:shaq:

if getting your album distributed on a national level isn't much... i wanna know what doing a lot of an artist is considered to you breh

That shyt reminds me of all the folks who get caught up in those MCA,5Linx,Herbalife pyramid schemes..... they've been sold that " be your own boss, and you control your own destiny" dream to the fullest, and end up broke as fukk with a bucha knives or coffee that nobody wants.
