Brehs, my car was stolen with the keys inside. Am I covered? :lupe:

Some of the details they can’t relate but in short:

local PD called and said I gotta call an officer in Montreal cause they found the vehicle.

officer in Montreal (she sounded good asf with that French accent too ) told me the car was involved in a high speed chase.

Because it got dangerous based on where they were chasing him (allegedly) NY cops stopped the pursuit. He eventually ended up in Montreal where he crashed the shyt and the Montreal police took him in.

I feel bad for breh though. Apparently they think he’s mentally unstable. They said there was blood in the interior and I was like “wow the accident was that bad?” And she said “no, I can’t go into too much detail but the blood came from self inflicted wounds before the crash”

I was like

She then asked if there’s a hospital near by where the vehicle was stolen and I told her it’s literally walking distance as I walk by there all the time en route to CVS.

she gave me brehs name (Vladimir was all I could catch) but we think he might have escaped the hospital

They have more shyt to do before they can turn the car over but looks like I may be good. Hopefully the insurance covers all the damages that occurred from the accident.

actuallt @hatealot what are your thoughts? I read that because I had the keys in the car they won’t cover any damages. Is that true?

My dumbass left the keys in the car to go grab a shovel on Christmas Eve and when I came back my whip was gone. Literally came onto my drive way and took the shyt.

I keep reading different answers that comprehensive covers a stolen vehicle even if keys are left unless the insurance company thinks you purposefully had the car stolen. But other sites say it’s not covered.

Check with your insurance company. They have the final say. People leave their car running all the time and it ends up stolen. I don't see why your situation is different.

yeah, about 10 years ago, my homie left his whip running in the street in front of his crib, and they snatched it. they found it a week later, but it was totaled, and insurance paid him out with no issue.

if u live somewhere cold, it's normal to leave the car running while u warm it up.

What f they recover the vehicle with his keys in it?

My shyt got stolen like this maybe 8 years ago? I left the keys in the car but told them I didn’t. When it was recovered it was no key to be found. I was dumb but lucky

So they totaled the car brehs.

geico didn’t want to at first but every body shop was when they saw the photos of blood in the vehicle.

what’s odd is I told geico we’d have to probably clean the car first but it would need to be some certified shyt but they hit me with the like nah you should be good.

once every shop declined I finally got in touch with a biohazard cleaning company that specializes in these things and even they was like “geico sure they don’t want total this?” And said it would cost at least 5,000 to clean.

once I forwarded that email to geico they finally threw in the towel and said and totaled it.

car is still in Canada after 33 days because they only speak French in Montreal, and Canada is giving geixo issues with it crossing the border.

but I’m happy as fukk because the equity in the car is over 8K after my loan is paid off. So I’ll have 8K for a down payment on a new vehicle

I just got my rental stolen. I fukked around and dropped the fob when I got out the car. Came back 2 mins later and ride was gone. My car in the shop for a hit n run and I got full coverage so it includes a rental. Car thief is so bad in NY state they have a law where if you leave you car running you get a ticket AND the insurance won't cover it. shyt is bad as fukk and don't matter if you in the hood or burbs.

damn breh. I’m in NY and my shyt was covered tho the dikkhead officer mentioned offhand “I could give you a ticket but that would add insult to injury”
