The average percentage of made shots in these scenarios is around 60% or so. Russell's only averaging 1.7apg, so for him it's around 30%. For most players 5.3 potential assists would translate to around 3.2 actual assists. Considering his minutes and role (just 43.3 touches per game), that's solid.

Don't matter player don't make the basket they don't get assist. Would make more sense to give a player an assist if their pass leads to a foul and player hits both ft
