YouTube duo iLOVEFRiDAY’s diss track, “Mia Khalifa,” reigned atop the Genius Top Songs chart after becoming a meme on the app, while Ava Max scored her first Top 40 hit with “Sweet But Psycho” due in part to it becoming a TikTok challenge. Meanwhile, Chicago rapper Calboy also made his Billboard Hot 100 debut after his breakout song, “Envy Me,” migrated off Dubsmash and became popular on TikTok as well.

Nah, I’m skipping the TikTok wave. Don’t feel like I’m missing much because most of the good ones end up on Twitter. Always thought it was for kids but I’ve noticed more adults seem to be on there. Seems pretty similar to Instagram at this point since all I see is reels on there now anyway

I’m not getting on Tiktok but everyone I know who’s gotten an account says it’s by far the most addictive platform they’ve ever been on. Tiktok overpaid all the best talent in the industry to design their algorithm and it apparently works extremely well. Beware.
