tl;dr Version: Stop flipping out over Trump being Trump and focus on the real problems in his administration, like Russian ties and policy decisions.

Long version:

Everyday in HL, there's a new thread/post by @4d 6f 6e 65 79 about every little thing that Trump does. Not trying to single him out exclusively, but he's the one that does it most.

Unfortunately, this creates too much noise and distraction from what the actual issues are.

On the whole, criticizing Trump's rude, crass behavior is pointless; that's what he wants you to do. It's a distraction. He's not unaware of how he speaks or phrases things. It's an act, and one he pulls off well.

Criticizing his inconsistent, vague answers to policy questions is pointless.

Criticizing his smug behavior is pointless.

Criticizing each and every small lie that falls from his lips is pointless.

Criticizing his tiny Twitter-fingered outbursts and general unprofessional behavior is pointless.

Criticize his *POLICIES*, and his *POTENTIAL TIES TO RUSSIA*, the things we can actually analyze and quantify. Zero in on them. Focus, and hammer them over and over.

Like the failed executive order on immigrants from countries that haven't produced terror threats to the US.

Mike Flynn resigning within a month over Russia shenanigans.

Or a failed raid in Yemen that got a 8 year old US civilian girl killed, as well as at least 25 other civilians.

Think, don't react.

What people should not do is flip out over every little word he says. For one it does not work!

He has proven that. He can lie bodly and spinout of it with bluster, humour, and more lies. He is a master of that shyt. Meanwhile the real shyt he does slides under the radar.

I say focus on what he DOES not what he says.

I think the most telling event was that rambling, incoherent press conference he held on February 16th of this year:

“I'm not ranting and raving. I'm just telling you. You know, you're dishonest people. But I'm not ranting and raving. I love this. I'm having a good time doing it.”

He LOVES that. He excels at creating controlled chaos, because he knows how to use it to deflect attention away from what he actually wants to say and do.

Actually, I want to point out one other thing:

How exactly does the definition of tone policing given in the image above even apply to what I posted?

For instance:

-How am I "holding privilege"?
-How are you "marginalized" in relation to me?
-How is posting about Trump gaffes "sharing [your] experience of oppression"?
-Matter of fact, what "experience of oppression" have you posted about Trump that affects you personally?
-How am I "silencing" you?

I'm not even saying that you aren't posting important info about the issues; I'm simply saying that you tend to post a bunch of other unnecessary crap about Trump and his cronies as well.

If you give all info the same level of priority, the major stuff gets lost in the shuffle.

I'm not saying all his little mistakes should slide. I'm just saying that a focused attack is more effective.

If a building ignites because of a gas leak, which is more important: putting out all the fires bit by bit, or stopping the source of the leak?

Sure, you want to bring a fire hose, but it won't make much difference until that gas leak is stopped.

It's more shameful to use the office of POTUS or POTUS-elect to undermine democracy. Forget the dignity of the office of POTUS, that was thrown out on Nov. 9th. It's a fire but it's a small fire compared to bad policies and treasonous back room deals.
