Two Escobars was good but had too many inaccuracies to be the best
What was inaccurate?
I thought it was the best one (besides the amazing OJ one), as I don't even watch soccer yet I was glued to that episode.
Winning Time was great. I was glued to that episode even though I already knew the story very well. I always
at Reggie looking at Spike, doing the choke sign, then grabbing his nuts.Catching Hell was great too. Those Cubs fans were brutal. I have a co-worker from Chicago that still blames Bartman.
The U was very good. The ones on Len Bias, Benji Wilson, and Hank Gathers were good but depressing as shyt. I had already seen an ESPN doc on Bias before so a lot of the material wasn't new to me like others were. Once Brothers was also very good.
If you know the material well, you may be more critical when the documentary seems slanted or has some revisionist history. The Bad Boys one was good overall, but there was some revisionist history. They showed the Celtics leaving the court early in the 88' ECF, and showed a clip of Kevin McHale, implying he was part of it. McHale made a point to congratulate Isiah and wish him luck, and even shook hands with that a$$hole Laimbeer. They also were implying that they really got to James Worthy by the end of the 89' Finals and he was frustrated and losing control. Worthy scored 40 points in the last game and put on a clinic in the post. He had little help.
Most of the episodes are well done. An exception was the Tupac and Tyson one, that was a huge disappointment. But most of the time, it ranges from "pretty good" to "great".
