Why are people so afraid of a 60-80 pound dog? I guess I understand cause at one time I was. That was before I owned one though. In fact reading all the hype, I was afraid of mine when I first got it.

As a grown man, no dog under 130lbs should even make you pause.

As a pit owner I can tell you that if you aren't capable of properly training your dog, then go live that LL BEAN catalog golden retriever life, or don't get a dog.

Pasha is the second pit I've owned, and while she is a bit more hot headed then my previous dog was, I just don't put her in environments where she can act out.

Always leashed, no dog parks, no day care, no unsupervised time with kids. All that is basic dog ownership 101.

Can pits be dangerous? Absolutely. Are they inherently evil? Not at all. Bad owners make bad dogs.

Do some research on pit bulls pre 1980s and you'll see that they were highly regarded as a loyal, smart, obedient companion.... America's dog.

nikka grabbed one of my newborn dobie pups and was trying to kill it. He didn't drop it when I told him too. Not doing what I say is a death wish in my house.

So I choked him out to get the pup out his mouth. Then I took him out back and made him look at the flowers.

Anyone who owns the breed and does not take EVERY single precaution to keep their dog contained, if it gets out and attacks a child, another person and kills them the dog is dead and the owner will die to.

The only way to keep irresponsible ownerns in check.
