Album, single, book, home video, comic book, & other media releases have always been on Tuesday. When did Friday releases for albums become a thing?

I could be wrong but I thought the Friday release was because of streaming and them hoping captializing on the weekends as prime streaming and social media time.

Pretty much. The set-up that had existed before with physical releases was out-of-date. That said, I prefered the Tuesday release date. Gave me something to look forward to during the work week.

That's because people released albums with great party bangers and deep album cuts.

If you're just releasing flavor-of-the-month party songs, might as well drop all that shyt on a Friday/weekend when people are streaming anyway.

I absolutely fukking hate it. Fridays are for new movies in theaters and shows/movies on netflix. They should have left it that way.

All other home media releases on Tuesdays be it books, videogames and previously music. It irks the fukk out of me
