I sound like RHQ when he first came out when I speak sometimes.

I get self conscious about it at school or work. I'm so used to talking like this and code switching isn't a skill I've honed completely yet.

Any other brehs feel like this?

A fleeting childhood
Don't know how to code switch brahs

Nah jk but I'm not ashamed in any way shape or form of my speech pattern. Just speak with clear diction and no one should have any reason to think negatively of your accent unless they are immature

What's to feel embarrassed about?

My accent can be strong but, just like with any other accent, the way that you speak is what makes you sound "dumb" not your accent.

I'm sure you are fine.

If you aren't already doing so, try using full sentences, less slang, enunciate instead of cutting your words off, and just think about what you want to say before speaking.

Only when I’m around non country motherfukkers.

I’m from STL so you know my speech can be something else with how we pronounce our r’s.

Anytime I have to say words like “currently” at work, I hesitate cause I know the bama in me is about expose itself.

Lol 20 years off doing that is hard to monitor. When I get nervous or don't think I end up doing that.

I feel embarrassed I guess because it seems "dumb" and I'm far from that lol.

It happens.

I work in a call center and we are SUPPOSED to sound like we could be from anywhere but all my customers know straight up that I'm from the south. No denying it. :mjlol:

I'll accidentally get lazy sometimes and start cutting off the end of my words. It takes a conscience effort but you'll get better.

I’m in the education field currently and I don’t change a thing about how I talk.

When I’m around cacs I’m extra ignat with it so they can feel uncomfortable around me
