I was thinking of getting a router like that soon too. The 5GHZ frequency basically has no interference from other wireless devices and it has less interference from other wifi networks due to it having more channels to spread out it's signal. Not every wireless device you own may support 5ghz dual band wireless. I suggest using it. I tried streaming some games to my cell phone from my desktop PC and when my phone was connected to the 2.4ghz network it kept lagging. When connected to the 5ghz wifi network, it was much smoother.I got am Asus RT-AC68R and was curious does anyone use this 5Ghz setting shyt? And what do you use it?with does it work?

I have a dual-band router, but my 5GHZ signal doesn't get me close to what I get over a wired connection.
I'm sayin' though... is it as simple as connecting your device to the 5GHZ signal and eating?
I've connected devices to it and it's still not giving me close to my wired connection. Is there a router setting that I have to mess with to get the full speeds on my 5GHZ channel?
I don't get why my speeds aren't matching up though.Yeah honestly it is that easy...Bear in mind we are talking about wireless only a hard line connection is always going to be better to me.

My laptop is wireless N compatible, I just switched to the 5GHZ band and ran a speed test, in the same room as the router and my speeds were worse than they were on the 2.4GHZ band. I know wired is better, but I don't have everything connected wired in my crib, and if my router is capable of better seeds with this dual band I want to see them damnit
