Everywhere...You never there.
The thing is though he could flop in the SEC and then in three years another Big Ten school will give him a head coaching job.

Not the way B1G is currently set up... nah... not happening. B1G has the best coaches in the nation right now.

Bil will be coordinator status or an HC at a non power school.

Just a ridiculous move from the jump... on both ends... :smh: .... But gotta secure the bag, tho... Right, y'all? :sas2:

exactly which is why nobody faulted Charlie for going to UT. We ALLLL knew it wasn't a perfect fit but after being offered $5 mill a year and these perks:
Strong's term sheet also lists a variety of perks, including:

  • 20 hours of airplane flight time.
  • A suite for home football games, plus six football season tickets — both for Strong's personal use.
  • Four season tickets for other men's sports and for women's sports.
  • Memberships in the UT Golf Club and two social/dining clubs.
  • Having his wife's travel expenses paid when she travels to athletic events, development and official entertainment and other business activities.
Can't blame em

Exactly the scenario I was thinking of when I made that post. And yeah we did know it wasn't a perfect fit and they were gonna hold him to unrealistic expectations... With that said, I was one that was arguing against the move, but in retrospect, Strong had to take a shot with it being texas (an blue blood, upper echelon program) and the bag he was getting.

Bil's situation is strictly about the bag. Arky was a slight step down in terms of national program prominence, so I can't really compare the two. Bil shoulda stayed in Wisky :manny:

But I'm of the ilk where a bag shouldn't be the determining factor of whether you take a job.

yea bruh i agree, it was head scratching when he left. Did he have beef with the admin or anything or was he strictly bag securing status. There was NEVER a chance that he was going to get Arky to be what he had at Wisky, not ONE chance. It was stupid then and even more foolish now

nah not that i'm aware of, urban came and dude got rattled even though wisky v ohio state don't play each other every year and even though they recruit totally different players. Bielema thought his smshmouth type offense would be a little bama/lsu lite :mjlol:, when arky was ahving success with the tyler wilsons and knile davis types

Think he had beef with Barry
He didn't have beef, Bret was intimidated by him. Barry has a Bronze statuette of himself of the HC office facing the desk to let him know who was the boss.

Anderson left because he wanted to lower the Academic admissions and stop walk-ons.
