So I was listening to the WON podcast and Meltzer told the story about Lennox Lewis wanting to get a big payday and coming up with the idea of having an MMA fight against the pro wrestling champion.
So Lewis contacts WWE and pitches them the idea. This was in 02' or 03' when Cokeboy had decided that Brock was going to be his next huge superstar so he saw this proposition as an opportunity for Brock to get a big mainsream win. Vince talked to Marc Ratner (the fight was going to be in Las Vegas) and was told he either booked a complete worked show or a complete shoot show, so Cokeboy didn't give a fukk and started to book an MMA event that was going to also have Kurt Angle vs Michael Moore but as time went by Lennox started scouting on Brock, went
and backed off from the fight.
Meltz said he asked Brock about this a couple of years ago and he stopped the interview, said he had to go,
and hanged up the phone
The most shocking part of this whole story was that Dave never doubled talked
