The obvious reason is that both Manziel and Hoyer are hurt. They needed to add another QB. No big deal :ehh:

The point of this thread?

Thigpen was arrested (wasnt on an NFL team) around Thanksgiving for a DUI

This journeyman QB who hasnt done a productive thing in the NFL since his 2nd year in the NFL (2008)

is on an NFL roster after picking up a DUI more than a month ago.

Do you think if Vince Young, Josh Freeman, Terrelle Pryor (insert whatever journeyman black QB you like) would have been signed a month later after picking up a DUI while a free agent?

I know he was there in training camp. But to see so many QBs that dont even get signed to be a backup....

Can't speak for the others but Vince Young is making 6 figures. He doesn't need the league any more.

Vince Young is going back to Texas.

The university announced Thursday that it has hired the former Longhorns quarterback to work with the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. His duties will include helping with alumni relations and focusing on programs that support first-generation college students from low-income backgrounds.

Young, who led Texas to the 2005 national championship and retired from the NFL in June after six seasons, will begin his new job on Sept. 1. He will make $100,000 per year, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

Who cares? Browns are in a desperate situation and made a desperate move. Why you race baiting with some what if scenarios for scrub QB's that got their shot?

The duality breh :comeon:

The truth is mediocre/below average white QBs tend to last longer than mediocre/below average black QBs.

Those others guys at least have had some success.

The current mindset is that unless you are a "star black QB" you cant last in this league.

Its why people are already talking about RG3 being out of the league in 2 years (look up media members on twitter). Yet a guy who has done nothing, gets in trouble can still get a job.

Its a bigger picture going on.

Guys who have proven nothing tend to last longer in this league than brehs who have least proven a little something.

But if you feel its best to ignore another example of this....:manny:

Well said brotha. These jokers either slow or they know and just don't care. Man I remember when delhomme got hurt and the panthers signed a 44 year old retired Vinny Testereverde. shyt is wild man........remember when Culpepper went to the owners meeting begging for a 3rd string backup QB gig?

Unreal dude....Jameis is going to come out this year or next and will be dogged out for the sexual assault allegations. Yet Mark Sanchez, Colt Brennen and Zach Mettenberger were all charged with some sort of sexual assault and no one in the media said shyt come draft day for them.

Daunte had to write a letter :wow:

McNabb was considered "whining" because he's past his prime.

Also doc they had some writer for NFL.com saying he would take Manziel over RG3 because we are not us if RG3 can succeed in this league......lol. Like his rookie year where he set historical records for a rookie QB never existed.

Man as a black QB often times you better be a superstar aka super knee grow or be out the league. Even McNabb said this years ago.

McNabb was past his prime and had to go......but Rex Grossman still in the league until the browns cut him in August. Also do you know before signing Thigpen the browns tried to resign Grossman but he told them that is ok I will pass........lol!
