Had Em signed to DuckDown, he would have been Necro, Cage, High & Mighty, the fat dude in Dilated Peoples, etc.status. I loved Duck Down too back in the day, still listen to all that BCC music on the regular.

Em got more charisma than those cats but yea he would have basically stayed in 1998 mode his whole career.

thats probably true and there is no excuse....ive seen buck in the streets plenty times. i used to live on franklin where he is from but he still a legend i respect what nikkas did not where they are in life cause it dont work out for everybody. that dont change what the great music they gave us. washed up rappers probably go through shyt we cant fathom i used to could see it on his face but i aint kissing him neither are u so fukk u is the real deal? this is a hip hop forum so your comment was type azz and had no bearing on the thread jus sayin
Im a man and i do what i want. If i want to comment on his burnt mouth which sets a bad example for black men around the world, ill do that. No one should be smoking a joint so low that their lips are getting burnt. When someone says they're a legend but they do interviews with charbroiled lips and yellow teeth, i just feel a way about that. :manny: DMX gets clowned for being a crackhead so im not going to ignore this man looking like a fiend. Hes gotta take better care of himself. Whadaya gonna do ya know?

They would've made about as much off of Em as they did off Smiff N Wesson or Heltah Skeltah. He has no reason to say "yeah, I wish we signed Em!"....because all that would've done is lessen the success Em had, while bringing zero benefits to Duck Down in the process.

Unless you were a super duper underground rap head, Eminem wasn't on anyone's radar back then.

Basically.

It's not like them nikkas had the connect Jimmy has. Em although talented would not be anywhere near as successful as he is with Interscope.

Facts.

To put it in perspective, at that point in their careers canibus was talking down to em on some "get on my level" shyt mainstream wise, and I don't think people understand how big the divide was between the "underground" and mainstream was back then, had em signed to rawkus he'd probably gotten some attention but he would have never broke out like he should have.

And he might have made more....standard music, but I don't think it would have necessarily been better.

Quality-wise I don't think the peaks/valleys would've been as high/low if he went the Rawkus or BCC route. There would be no songs like "Fack" but there'd also most likely not be any "Stan", "The Way I Am", or "Stay Wide Awake", because he wouldn't be competing with the entire rap game, just people like Thirstin Howl III and Esoteric.

Most of his catalog would be like that song "Don't Front" he just dropped, which has everyone :krs:....but they're :krs: because it's an anomaly in his catalog at this point. He was rapping like that years before he signed to Dre and nobody gave a fukk, besides underground heads.
